Straight answers
The things you need to know before you start.
From overdue books to accounting-platform access, these are the practical answers without the jargon.
01Do I need to organise everything before I contact Erica?+
No. Start with what you have. The first step is to understand what is current, what is behind and what information is missing.
02Can you help if several months of bookkeeping are behind?+
Yes. Catch-up bookkeeping is specifically for overdue records, missing statements, unprocessed invoices and backlogs that need a structured plan.
03Do you work with businesses throughout South Africa?+
Yes. Erica is based in Edenvale and offers local support across Gauteng, while document collection, meetings and recurring bookkeeping can be handled remotely for businesses throughout South Africa.
04Should I send my accounting password?+
Never. If you use cloud accounting software, invite Erica as an authorised accountant or user from inside your own account. Access can then be controlled or removed by you.
05Is SARS paperwork support the same as formal tax advice?+
No. VAT and UIF eFiling support can be included in the agreed bookkeeping scope. Formal tax advice and practitioner-only tax work are confirmed separately with an appropriately authorised or registered professional.
06What happens if my monthly volume is above a package limit?+
The team confirms an upgrade, overage or tailored scope before doing the additional work. Gold is high-volume, not unlimited, so service quality and pricing stay predictable.
07How is catch-up bookkeeping priced?+
Historic books are assessed separately because record quality and missing information change the workload. The scope assessment is R950 and is credited if the quoted catch-up project is accepted. Catch-up sprints start from R6,500.
08How are documents shared after the engagement is agreed?+
The public enquiry form does not accept documents. After the scope is agreed, Erica will confirm an appropriate handover method for statements, invoices or spreadsheets. Never send passwords, PINs or payment-card details.
